Gustin Continues Family Tradition at Marshalltown

Jenae Gustin added her name to the Marshalltown Speedway history books as another Gustin that has visited victory lane at the high banks of Marshalltown in her Big 8 Tyre Center SportMod.  Jayme Duinink led the first 3 laps of the 15 lap feature event and then Jenae made her move and led the rest of the way.  A late yellow flew and made the finish a dramatic green, white, checkered but Gustin was able to hold everyone off for the win.  Tyler Droste finished 2nd, Scott Davis 3rd and Cayden Carter 4th.

In the O’Rielly Modlite Dwarf Cars Mike Kennedy picked up his 3rd win of the season with his pass on leader Ivan Guerra on lap 4.  Guerra paced the field for the first 3 laps.  Tim Hennigar took 2nd, Ivan Guerra 3rd and Mike Morrill 4th.

Kyle Krampe led the first 16 laps of the 20 lap Meskwaki Casino Hotel Modified feature event but wasn’t able to secure the win as Jon Snyder used a late race pass with 3 laps to go to pick up his 2nd win of the season at Marshalltown. Luke Wanninger challenged for the lead but had a left front tire going down on his car.  Mike O’Lear got 2nd, Jimmy Gustin 3rd and Ronn Lauritzen 4th.  Snyder also picked up the Gambler race at the conclusion of the night to make it a double dip in victory lane!

Scott Durlin led the first 3 laps in the Junction Bar and Grill Hobby Stock A-Main and Clint Nelson was able to work past him with 8 laps to go to pick up his first career win at the Marshalltown Speedway.  Scott Durin came home in 2nd, Michael Murphy in 3rd and Eric Knutsen in 4th.

Rookie John Emerson led the first 2 laps of the Stock Car feature, and then Dave Atcher paced the field on laps 3-5 and then points leader Dustin Smith made his move and picked up another win at Marshalltown to add to his points lead.  Damon Murty took 2nd, Dave Atcher 3rd and Micheal Murphy 4th.
