Marshalltown, Iowa (April 24, 2026) — Racing roared back to life at Marshalltown Speedway Friday night as drivers and fans alike shook off a long offseason and uncooperative spring weather. The Drury Automotive / Knight Sanitation IMCA Weekly Show, paired with the Karl Chevrolet Premier Late Model Tour, delivered a full night of high-intensity action, featuring 164 entries across seven classes.

The IMCA ModLites wasted no time setting the tone. Joel Huggins appeared to have the race in hand, leading nearly every lap, but it was Ben George who made the decisive move when it mattered most slipping past on the final circuit to steal the win. Austin Gray completed the podium.

A similar story unfolded in the IMCA Stock Cars, where Austin Kaplan executed a thrilling last-lap pass off turn four to narrowly edge Johnny Spaw at the stripe. Spaw had been under constant pressure throughout the race from a hard-charging field that included Richards and Maguire DeJong, with a late caution involving DeJong adding even more late-race drama.

The IMCA Hobby Stocks featured another momentum swing. Kale Hensley jumped out to an early lead, but Eric Knutson stayed within striking distance. Following a caution that tightened the field, Knutson surged to the front and held strong through a late restart to secure the victory. McNeese, Tom Killen Jr., and Brad Graham followed in a competitive finish.

In IMCA Northern SportMod action, Colton Livzey controlled much of the race before Dylan Van Wyke found speed late. Van Wyke powered to the lead and never looked back, surviving a late caution to claim the win. Livzey, Reimers, Shepherd, and Kyle Olson rounded out the top five.

The IMCA Modified feature showcased a hard-fought battle at the front, with Tom Berry fending off heavy pressure from Braaksma and Flippo to earn the victory.

In the IMCA Sport Compacts, Mitchell Bunch dominated the feature, pulling away from the field in commanding fashion. Tyler Fiebelkorn and Katelynn Watts completed the top three.

While the IMCA divisions delivered their usual excitement, the Late Model portion of the program turned into a grueling, event In the end, Nick Marolf emerged victorious after holding off strong challenges from Jeff Aikey and Tyler Sommerlot.

Up next, the spotlight turns to the Cliff Chambers Memorial / UAW Local 893 Night. Pit gates will open at 5:15 p.m., grandstands at 5:30 p.m., with hot laps scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. Fans can expect another night of high-speed action at “America’s Bucket List Track.”
