Todd Shute finds Redemption at MoTown
Marshalltown, Iowa (May 1st, 2026)
This past weekend at MoTown was one to remember as the UAW Local 893 Cliff Chambers Memorial brought a strong field of 128 entries across six IMCA classes. Despite the cold, the racing action was nothing short of electric.
The IMCA Mod Lites kicked off the night with an impressive drive from Riley Clem, who started mid-pack and methodically worked his way to the front for a well-earned victory. Dillon Raffurty and Austin Gray completed the podium.
In the IMCA Stock Cars, Jimmy Gustin was in complete control, taking the pole position and leading every lap en route to a dominant win. Hunter Smith and Jonathan Logue rounded out the top three.
The IMCA Modifieds delivered another strong showing as Todd Shute put on a flawless performance from the outside front row, leading start to finish. Jacob Murray and Jake McBirnie followed to claim podium finishes.
In the IMCA Northern SportMods, Brayton Carter showcased his speed and composure in a feature that required multiple restarts. Carter held steady through the chaos to secure the win, with Matt Avila and Matt Harwood completing the podium.
The biggest moment of the night belonged to Kael Koch, who captured his first-ever MoTown victory. Starting on the pole, Koch stayed composed under pressure and drove a smart, steady race to reach victory lane despite the chilly conditions. Corey VanDerwilt and Eric Knutson joined him on the podium.
Capping off the night, Curtis Masterson claimed the win in the IMCA Sport Compacts. David Kimmel and Katelynn Watts rounded out the top three.
Next week, racing returns to America’s Bucket List Track for Elite Fleet Service Kids Night featuring kids car rides.
Hot laps are set for 6:45 PM, with racing to follow.
