Elite Fleet Service Wins to Oberembt, Avila, Jannette, Shute, Jannette, and Gifford
Marshalltown, Iowa (May 8, 2026)
Another packed night of racing action unfolded at Marshalltown Speedway as 136 cars filled the pit area for Elite Fleet Service IMCA Weekly Racing, delivering fans an evening full of side-by-side battles, dramatic late-race passes, and first-time celebrations at America’s Bucket List Track.
The headline story of the night belonged to Colby Oberembt, who captured his first career feature victory in impressive fashion in the IMCA Mod Lite division. Oberembt dominated the event from the drop of the green flag, leading every lap en route to the breakthrough win. Tracen Glick crossed the line second, while Riley Clem completed the podium.
The IMCA Northern SportMods provided one of the night’s most exciting finishes. Will Wulf appeared to have the feature well in hand after pacing the field for the majority of the event, but a late caution reset the field and opened the door for Matt Availa. On the restart, Availa capitalized on the opportunity and made the winning move in the closing laps to steal the victory. Wolfe settled for second with Chris Burke finishing third.
In the IMCA Stock Cars, Michael Jaennette once again proved why he remains one of the toughest competitors in the division. Jaennette worked his way through the field late in the race and made the decisive pass in the closing stages to secure another hard-fought feature victory. Jim Gustin and Maguire DeJong rounded out the top three finishers.
The IMCA Hobby Stocks saw Braden Gifford put together one of the drives of the night. Starting 11th on the grid, Gifford methodically worked his way forward before making a late-race pass around Krueger to secure the feature win. Briar Kriegel crossed the line in second while Kale Hemsley completed the podium.
Todd Shute continued his recent hot streak in the IMCA Modifieds. Shute quickly powered to the front and controlled the race from there, collecting his third victory in the last four outings aboard the TS5 machine. Chaz Baca finished second with Tom Berry Jr. charging to a third-place finish.
Capping off the evening, Kiner Jaennette claimed the IMCA Sport Compact feature victory after holding off a charging Michael Gardner in the closing laps. Gardner finished second while Paige Sanders completed the podium in the nightcap event.
Next week, Marshalltown Speedway returns to action with XTREAM by Mediacom Salute to Law Enforcement and First Responders Night alongside another full program of IMCA Weekly Racing at America’s Bucket List Track. Pit gates open at 5:15 p.m., grandstands open at 5:30 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:45 p.m., and racing will follow.
